Lemon Water and Weight Loss: Know The Facts

Lemon Water

Wow! It sounds like the perfect solution for easy weight loss. Simply drink enough lemon water and weight loss will quickly begin as the acidity of the lemon melts the fat away.

Lemon Water Versus Plain Water

But unfortunately drinking lemon water won’t help you lose weight any faster than drinking plain purified water. The real advantage of drinking lemon water, or lime water, or cucumber water, or any other fresh fruit-enhanced water is that it tastes really good. And if that helps you drink more water throughout the day than it is a very good thing to do indeed.

The Benefits of Drinking Purified Water

Unlike drinking ordinary tap water, drinking purified water has many powerful benefits that make it worth the extra cost. Purified water will help your body flush out toxins and unnecessary waste. Add to that the fact that drinking purified water will speed up your metabolism, hydrate your body, moisturize your skin, and boost your energy.

The Ultimate Combination

For the greatest benefit, why not add sliced lemon, or sliced cucumber, or sliced lime to a large pitcher of purified water and keep it chilled in the refrigerator. It’s delicious. It’s refreshing. It’s full of healthy benefits.

Now before you go to workout, just fill your water bottle with some of this refreshing and flavorful chilled water.

How Much Water To Drink Every Day

The general rule of thumb is that if you are trying to lose weight, you should drink the equivalent of half your weight in ounces of water every day. In other words, a 120-pound woman would want to drink 60 ounces of water every day.

In Conclusion

Now with all this information it’s easy to conclude that drinking purified water, whether plain or enhanced with fresh fruit will indeed help you lose weight and eliminate unwanted belly fat.

  1. Excellent tip! I have been putting lemon in my water recently and it does help you drink more and have also found it decreases my appetite. And refreshing! One caution – I would recommend not ordering lemon for your water at restaurants. They are rarely washed (if ever) and could carry bacteria and contaminants!

    1. Hi Julie. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment and for reminding me about the importance of avoiding lemon with the water we order at restaurants. That is a very important tip. Thank you again. – Linda
